In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Our Lovely Prophet (for 8 to 12 years old)
Of the 124,000 Prophets that Allah [SWT] sent to guide people, the last was Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] who is OUR Prophet.
The Holy Prophet [PBUH] was born in Mecca on the 17th of Rabiʿ al-Awwal in the Year of the Elephant (Year of the Elephant refers to an important event that a wicked king called Abraha came from Yemen to destroy the Ka’bah. He brought with him an army of elephants. Allah sent thousands of tiny swallows (Ababeel), which flew over the elephants. They had little bits of clay in their beaks which they rained down on the elephants with such force that the army of Abraha was completely destroyed. This event became so famous that it was called the Year of the Elephant)
The Holy Prophet [PBUH]’s father passed away two months before he was born and his mother passed away when he was 6 years old. So, our Prophet [PBUH] was an orphan at the age of six, which means he did not have both of his parents.
His grandfather, Abd al-Muttalib was the leader of Mecca, and was the one who took care of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH]. Abd al-Muttalib loved Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] very much.
The Prophet [PBUH] was only 8 years old his grandfather died. After that his uncle, Abu Talib, took care of the Holy Prophet [PBUH].
When the Holy Prophet [PBUH] grew up, people loved him and trusted him a lot. They called him “al-Sadiq” which means “The Truthful One” and “al-Amin” which means “The Trustworthy”.
When people from Mecca would travel, they would leave their money and gold with the Holy Prophet [PBUH] because they knew he would look after it.
The Holy Prophet [PBUH] taught us so much good Akhlaq and how to be well-behaved. He taught us to love Allah [SWT] and speak with Him when we are feeling sad.
Whenever we take the name of the Holy Prophet we should say Salawat (Allahumma Salli Alaa Muhammad wa Aali Muhammad)
